This super hot pepper gave Tabasco sauce its name.  The Tabasco pepper averages about 2” in height, is very hot, medium-sized,  and oblong.  It can be consumed at any stage of growth.  It is the only variety of chilé whose fruits are juicy.  The Tabasco plant has a typical bushy growth and unlike other pepper plants, the pepper grows up rather than hanging down from its stems.   Tabasco is great for small gardens and patio pots.  You should leave about 3’ between plants, which grow from 2-4’ tall.    It has average H₂0 needs, so be careful not to overwater.  These peppers are great when used fresh in salads and salsas, drying or pickling.   Don’t overdo it when cooking with Tabasco peppers; they pack a spicy bite, so a little goes a long way!
