Osaka White Ornamental Cabbage grows lush and full in shades of cream, white and vivid green to enhance any colors in your Fall beds and containers.  You can decorate with ornamental cabbage, eat it, do your laundry and even clean your shower! Ummmm……..well, maybe ornamental cabbage can’t do ALL of that, but you can most definitely decorate with it!  You can eat it, although it isn’t recommended.  The taste of this cabbage isn’t nearly as tasty or tender as it’s close veggie brother, but they make lovely garnishes!  The leaves of flowering cabbage give the plants their color which make them attractive as additions to your Fall beds and containers.  They have large colorful leaves variegated with cream, rose, pink and purple.

Homeowner Growing & Maintenance Tips The color of these décor plants often becomes more intense after the first few hard frosts.  They can last throughout the winter, however, if they get too hot they will bolt, too wet and they will look withered and just not up to par.  Pests are generally no problem for cabbage, as they are usually scarce in the cold season months.  Plant in full sun with plenty of circulation.   They like to be fed, so fertilize for optimum growth and color!

Interesting Notes The members of the Brassica family, closely related to broccoli, Brussels sprouts and turnips.   In temperate areas, they can retain their color all the way to Spring. Does great in containers
