Ajuga reptans 'Black Scallop'
Bugleweed
Black Scallop is a fast growing perennial. It has dark, almost black foliage with blue flowers during late spring or early summer. A member of the Mint family, it is commonly referred to as Bugleweed and Carpet Bugle. It is widely used in landscaping for groundcover. A great accent in your beds or containers. This invasive perennial spreads by runners and fills in areas very quickly. The Ajuga will spread over and around rocks, does well under trees in the shade, and it maintains its beauty year round.

Homeowner Growing & Maintenance Tips
The Ajuga prefers moist soil but will do well in almost any soil as long as it is well drained. It can even withstand near drought conditions. It prefers shade, but in full sun, the plant will still prosper, but may produce smaller leaves. For best results, the Ajuga should be planted in the Spring. Space 12-15” apart and not too deep!
