The Catnip plant is a member of the mint family and is well loved by cats. Althought scentless to humans, most cats loves the smell of this plant and will react enthusiasticlly aroud it. In the garden, Catnip can acts as a repellant for insects such as aphids and squash bugs. Dried leaves from this plant can be used for potpourris, herbal teas or as fill for cat toys. White flowers with small purple spots will be produced in the summer. It is a drought tolerant perennial plant, growing 18–36” tall, that is know to be deer resistant and attract butterflies.
