This pepper averages 3” long, is green when ripe, and turns red the longer you keep it on the vine. The Tam Mild is known for it's great flavor without the heat just remove all the seeds and veins. A Jalapeño plant stands 2 ½-3’ tall and typically produces 23-30 pods. During the growing period, a plant will be picked multiple times. You should space your Jalapeño plants 14-16” apart with about 2-3’ between rows. They are ready to be picked when they are firm, have smooth skin and are bright green.
